About Floral Moon Cosplay

Hello! My name is Andy and I am a cosplayer from Kansas. I have been sewing for almost twenty years, having learned from my mom and grandmother. I studied fashion design at Johnson County Community College, as well as theater design at the University of Kansas. Costuming has been a beloved hobby of mine for many years.

My first job was at a small family-owned jewelry store where I worked for three and a half years. While there, I learned jewelry-making techniques, which I incorporate into my designs wherever I can. I also spent four years as a floral designer creating arrangements including flower crowns, boutonnieres, and bouquets for large wedding and event installations. After my time as a florist, I worked at a sewing machine repair and sales shop. Through my coworkers' expertise I expanded my machine knowledge and techniques on household, embroidery, sergers, coverstitch, and industrial machines.

I have been using all these skills to make costumes and attend conventions since my first anime convention in 2011. In 2019, I had the opportunity to be a cosplay guest for the first time, and have been doing so ever since. Sharing my hobby with others and helping the cosplay community grow has been an enriching experience. I have had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people who have inspired me, and I hope to do the same for others!
